Bless Them

Romans 12:14 in the King James Version reads, "Bless them which persecute you: bless and curse not."

I know that is going against society, but think about it.  If you do something nice for someone who was just very mean to you, you are showing kindness and forgiveness (which is God's will for us) and this, most likely will irk them that you have the capacity to be nice after they are mean.  Romans 12:20 reads, "therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head."  Luke 11:13 reads, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"  We need to be fishers of men and lead a Christian life.  Living Romans 12:14 is another way to do that.

  1. This post is so very true! Just yesterday I had a women chew me up and spit me out! lol She was someone I didn't even know in a department store. Apparently I did something that bothered her and boy did she let me know! My flesh wanted to come back at her and really give her a fight! However, I was reminded that we are to pray for our enemies. I politely apologized and told her that I would pray for her. She went on to call me very ugly names and critized me even more. I simply walked away and said a prayer for her. For my flesh, this was hard but I knew it was the right thing to do in God's eyes. God is such an awesome God!

  2. I'll tell ya...sometimes when someone annoys you and you tell them that you will pray for them, they get to the boiling point. I actually at that point sometimes find it funny because they realize that you are being nice although they are being mean. Then they try to be mean again or more mean to try to get you mad so they can feel better...

  4. Yes, Mary, the more and more I grow closer to God, the more and more I am so thankful to know Him. We do not have to live with hate, anger and bitterness in our lives. We just give it all to God and He will take care of the rest! Thanks for the post :)
